If you completed the transaction before 2:30 PM on a business day, the receiver should get the money by the next business day.
If you made the transaction on a holiday or after 2:30 PM on a business day, the receiver will get the money within the next 2 business days. -
TCS stands for Tax Collected at Source. If you are sending over INR 7 Lakhs under LRS (Liberalized Remittance Scheme) in a financial year, 5% TCS will be levied on the amount above INR 7 Lakhs. However, if you are making an International Transfer for Education and if you have an Education Loan, TCS is only 0.5% instead of 5%. From July 1st 2023, TCS applicable would be 20% for all categories except Education and Medical irrespective of the amount. However, you adjust the TCS deducted against your overall tax liability and TCS can be refunded at the time of ITR filing.
